People don't want to do a good job.
They want to do the job they are good at.
So why do we spent so much time making people good at their job instead of spending the time finding the job they are good at?
Some basic principles every HR and OB specialists should follow. Like it and I like the length of the post too.

What people are good at may or may not correlate with customer needs.

so @ben - the answer is to force someone into a job they aren't good at because that's what's open right now? How does that help the company or the person? That's what we've doing for years and it's gotten us to 40% turnover in many places.
Focus on the goals of both audiences and you win. Focus on one - and you lose.
