I thought I'd let you all know that we've taken on some additional workload here at I2I - and we're happy to do it.
Yesterday a press release was issued from Selling Communications - a marketing firm focused on building relationships with your target audiences, and one of the founders of the Enterprise Engagement Alliance - announcing that I2I - and by extension - Paul Hebert, Managing Director of I2I - will be helping Selling Communications and the EEA with their social media efforts.
I won't recap the entire release - you can read it here - but I do want to highlight the EEA and, in the spirit of transparency - talk a bit about why we're involved.
The EEA
Finding good, vetted information on the web is difficult. As Chris Andersen presciently observed, the future is about aggregation. As the "long tail" of information becomes longer and longer, the task of finding relevant information gets more difficult. Aggregation is the savior for info overload. The EEA is such an organization. The goal of the EEA is to consolidate information in a single source portal, vetted by people not just page-ranking and link-back algorithms.
In addition to being a "people-powered" information portal, members have the ability to contribute information and thought leadership - again - vetted for appropriateness and value.
The juice behind this effort is substantial - the founding members are the Human Capital Institute, 1to1 Media, Peppers & Rogers Group and Selling Communications. In addition to the founders there are other impressive organizations that will advise and help direct the effort.
The overall goal of the organization is provide information that helps companies build relationships and connections to all audiences - internal and external - that will help drive business performance. It will not focus solely on employees but also look at information that helps to drive channel performance, customer performance - even vendors and suppliers. In other words - the ENTERPRISE!
For more information on the "enterprise engagement" point of view see our Wikipedia entry here.
From our perspective - this is a great resource for great information - and anything we can do to advance the business world's understanding of engagement - we're all for it!
August GO LIVE!
The effort to put this together was pretty intense - and the target go-live date is the beginning of August. I'll let you know - through a variety of channels when the portal is up and running.
In the meantime - I urge you to visit and join our Linkedin group - but be warned - we're policing it heavily to keep out spam and unsolicited selling and unrelated discussions. We're not just about numbers - we're about "good" numbers.
We are also on twitter at @ee_org - and would love to have you follow and belong to our network.
Congrats, Paul! Sounds like you're involved in some terrific new work ... out on the cutting edge of social media in the industry!
