I wish I could be the one to find these things! But the beauty of the internet is I still get to share them with you even if I don't find them.
Here is one of the best examples of "consensus" in action - brought to you by Steve Roesler, CEO of Roesler Communications/Roesler Consulting Group. he blogs at "All Things Workplace." For the uninitiated, consensus is an influence principle (also called social proof) that states that people generally want to follow the lead of similar others, particularly when they are unsure. Steve's post is focused on how consensus may stifle questions and new ideas.
From my perspective - aligning behaviors - this is a very, very powerful tool to reinforce the culture of an organization and establish the norms for the company (this can be a negative as well - can anyone say Wall Street?)
