Some things are just fun...

Ducksmall_1 I had to add a new category just for this post - "Just Fun".  I surf a lot of sites and sometimes I get a piece of information that is just flat our interesting.  This is one of them.

From the Michael Specht blog about HR/Technology is a riff on the growth of our planet. 

The fun stuff is:

  • If you are 1 in a million in China there are 1,300 others just like you

  • The 25% of China population with the highest IQ is larger than the total population of North America

  • US Dept of Labor estimates that today average learner will have 10 to 14 jobs by the time they are 38

  • If MySpace were a country it would be the worlds 11th largest!

Think about these things for a minute.  Boggles the mind.

Update - The Budget Myth After re-reading my previous post I may have given the impression that incentive and performance improvement programs MUST include awards and that is a myth as well. My point was that in those programs where an award is a good fit don't fall into the trap of assigning specific percentages of your budget to traditional line items.
